Fundraising Idea - Flower Bulbs and Seeds Printer friendly version
A way of selling flower bulbs and seeds of behalf of a company who then give you a percentage of everything you sell.
What you need:
Catalogues from a seed company that offers a charity scheme.
How to do it:
Choose the company you're going to work with and order your catalogues. Distribute your catalogues as widely as you can. This could be through the supporters of your cause, parents, friends and family or even door to door. Give people a couple of days to browse through and then collect their orders and payment (this is usually made out to your organisation but check with the supplier). Send the orders off. Deliveries are usually made directly from the seed company to your supporter's home addresses. The company will then bill you for the total of your order minus the 'kick back' that you are getting for your cause.
How much to expect:
£80 to £200 depending on number of orders placed.
Works well for:
Primary schools, clubs and societies and churches.
Top tip:
Record who you give the catalogues to, ask for them back and give them out again to someone else if an order page hasn't been filled in. Sutton's Seeds (www.suttons.co.uk/Fundraiser.htm) offer a well established scheme.
And the big thank you goes to: Cecilia from Penrith.
